The Wehrmacht was the Nazi Military's draft into their army. Unlike most drafts that had certain parameters soldiers had to meet like height and weight minimums, the Wehrmacht drafted pretty much any man. Very few were excluded from the draft and those that were said to have fell under these guidelines "you were only exempt from duty if you showed some sort of an illness, something that couldn't be cured short term essentially". This contributed to the Nazi militarism mentality by enlisting everyone, militarism became ingrained in society, as everyone was affected by the draft. Almost every family had at least one member, sometimes multiple, actively participating in some form in the Nazi army. This combined with Nazi propaganda that made people excited about the goings on in the army meant that people were excited and honored to have a family member in the Army, contributing heavily to the militaristic mindset of Nazi Germany.
Here is an example of Nazi propaganda that made people proud of the army and their family in it, a heroic soldier in the heat of battle. The poster translates to: "As we fight, you have to work for the victory" connecting the civilian to the German troops.
