Spending Increases
One of the largest factors to Militarism in Nazi Germany was the significant increase in military spending during the Nazi rise to power. For example in 1932 military expenditures accounted for just 0.4% of the annual budget in Germany. Fast forward to 1938 and now military expenditures account for a whooping 18.4% of the annual budget. That means in just 6 years military spending went from less than one percent of the annual budget to almost accounting for a fifth of it. This increase in Military spending was partly necessary to cover all the new draftees forced into the German army. With all the new mouths to feed the military would definitely need to increase funding. Not only did they have to feed them but they also required equipment, like uniforms and weapons. This not only required more military spending, but the cooperation of the German people as whole to come together and provide for the newly expanded army, so in essence affecting the Germany Economy as whole.
